A lot of people thought the verdict was justified and a lot others were totally against the idea of putting him behind bars. The purpose of the judicial system in any country is to serve the people by ensuring equal justice under law, it protects the rights of the citizens and it acts as the interpreter and guardian of the constitution. In many states judiciary enjoys the power of judicial review by virtue of which the judiciary decides the constitutional validity of the laws enacted or of the decree issued Going by the first point above it seems to be the right thing to do to put Salman Khan behind bars as he's been proven guilty in the 2002 hit and run case. But if we look at the second point we sense an element of flexibility in the judiciary. Now the question is whether Salman really deserves this flexibility.
